Pugel has also been a part of teaching other law enforcement officers how to be better. It was important for him to get his teaching credentials from UCLA (University of California at Los Angeles) and a Master of Science Degree from California State University Los Angeles so that he could do this well. When he was a guest speaker at the National Police Staff College in Bramshill, England, he talked about how to keep people safe. At the time, the National Police Staff College in England and Wales was the most important place to learn about police work in England and Wales. College of Policing took over training English and Welsh police officers. In 2015, the College of Policing shut down the staff college.
